PXE Boot Troubleshooting

Had an issue today where a site could not PXE boot. Other sites could PXE fine, however the SMSPXE log on this particular site's DP showed servicing rejected messages any time PXE booting was attempted.

Checked the following:

  1. The task sequence was deployed to both the All ConfigMgr Clients and Unknown Computer collections
  2. Both x86 and x64 Boot Images were enabled to be deployed from a PXE enabled distribution point

I ended up realizing that during a recent upgrade of ConfigMgr and the ADK, I had distributed the newly generated boot images to a distribution point group that did not include this particular site's DP. This ended up being something really basic. PXE DPs are required to have both the x86 and x64 versions of the boot images when you update the ADK, otherwise it won't know how to respond to requests from architectures.
